About the eventThis UI/UX Designathon is a part of the Calgary Maker Faire, which is hosted by Roots 2 STEM to promote STEM education in Calgary. Roots 2 STEM is a non-profit supporting the Alberta community with STEM education programs. The Calgary Maker Faire 2026 will be held at the Acadia Rec Centre, 240 - 90th Avenue, SE, Calgary, AlbertaAbout the challengeThis challenge is intended for undergraduate students across Canada. Participants may compete in groups of 1 - 4 people.Students in Calgary are highly encouraged to attend Maker Faire in person.Schedule (all times in MDT)May 1st, 10 am: Challenge RevealCompetitors will be sent a Zoom link to view the challenge reveal virtually, after which they may begin researching and designing!May 3rd, 10 am: Project SubmissionsAll submissions must be submitted on DevPost by this time.May 5th, 10 AM - 12 PM: Project PitchesTeams will pitch their projects to the judges and the Maker Faire community virtually or in person (competitors in Calgary are highly encouraged to attend in person to enjoy the event).May 3rd, 3 PM: Awards CeremonyWinning teams will be announced virtually and in person.
