About the Hackathon

Introduction

ETH Hangzhou is a Hangzhou on-site hackathon sponsored by the Ethereum Foundation Ecosystem Support Program (ESP) for all ethereum developers to promote the development of the ethereum ecosystem in China. The hackathon invites a number of senior blockchain practitioners to provide guidance, and participants can develop applications or solutions based on the ethereum blockchain, as well as communicate and collaborate with other developers during the event.

ETH Hangzhou is another official global ethereum hackathon held in mainland China after ETH Beijing. The event is co-organized by Zhejiang University Student Blockchain Association (ZJUBCA), PKU Blockchain, WTF Academy and TinTinLand, and many projects with exciting performances will also be in Hangzhou to share their progress.

Prizes

The hackathon offers generous prizes across two main tracks:

Track 1: AI

  • Focus: DeFi Agents, Agent Token Tooling, Trading Agents, etc.
  • Prizes:
    • 1st Place: $3,000
    • 2nd Place: $2,000
    • 3rd Place: $1,000

Track 2: Public Goods

  • Focus: Protocols, Infrastructure, Developer Tools, etc.
  • Prizes:
    • 1st Place: $3,000
    • 2nd Place: $2,000
    • 3rd Place: $1,000

Who can apply?

Developers, designers, and researchers interested in building projects during the hackathon are encouraged to participate. Each team can have up to a maximum of 4 members. Please note, ETH Hangzhou is an in-person event, and participants are required to attend physically.

Does ETH Hangzhou charge any fees?

ETH Hangzhou is free to attend.

Will ETH Hangzhou offer travel scholarships to hackers?

We will provide food, accommodations, and travel compensation to students if the budget permits.

Can I participate remotely at this event?

No, ETH Hangzhou Hackathon is an in-person event in Hangzhou, and you need to attend in person.

Can I start working on my project before the event?

No. In the interest of fairness, attendees should not be working on their projects before the hackathon begins, and we do not allow participants to work on pre-existing projects. However, you can familiarize yourself with the tools of the project.
