About the Hackathon
build the future of Islamic tech during the holy month of Ramadan
Ramadan Hacks – The First Ever Islamic Tech HackathonJoin Ramadan Hacks—the first ever Islamic tech hackathon. Build Sharia-compliant technology solutions that serve 2 billion Muslims worldwide. From prayer apps to halal finance, community platforms to educational tools—build the future of Islamic tech.Islamic Tech refers to technology solutions designed to serve the Muslim community while adhering to Islamic principles and Sharia compliance. It encompasses several key categories:worship and practice tools(prayer apps, Quran readers, qibla finders),halal finance and economics(Islamic banking, zakat calculators, Sharia-compliant investment platforms),education and knowledge(Islamic learning platforms, Arabic language tools, hadith databases),community and social connection(Muslim networking platforms, marriage apps, community organizing tools), andlifestyle and commerce(halal food finders, modest fashion platforms, Muslim travel services). The importance of Islamic Tech lies in its ability to make Islamic practice more accessible to 2 billion Muslims worldwide, preserve and transmit Islamic knowledge across generations, provide Sharia-compliant alternatives to conventional technology, strengthen Muslim communities through digital connection, empower Muslims with tools for spiritual growth, and address unique challenges facing Muslims in the modern world—all while ensuring technology serves faith rather than compromises it.Virtual & Global • February 17 – March 23, 2026Event Schedule- Feb 17, 2026 (00:00 UTC) – Hackathon Begins – Open registration, team formation, ideations and start of workshops- Feb 18, 2026 – Ramadan Begins – Ramadan 2026 starts—continue building during this blessed month.- Mar 10, 2026 – Mid-Hackathon Check-in – Optional check-in session for questions and progress updates during Ramadan.- Mar 18, 2026 – Ramadan Ends – Last day of Ramadan (sundown).- Mar 20, 2026 – Eid al-Fitr – Eid al-Fitr 2026—celebrate with the Ummah.- Mar 23, 2026 (23:59 UTC) – Submission Deadline – All submissions must be in by this time.1 Week for Judging then followed by Prize Ceony
