Introduction

Welcome to the Somnia AI Hackathon, a global, online event taking place from September 29th to October 28th, 2025. Hosted entirely virtually, this hackathon invites developers, creators, and innovators from all corners of the world to build the next generation of on-chain autonomous AI agents using the Somnia Blockchain.

The Somnia AI Hackathon is at the cutting edge of Web3—merging artificial intelligence and blockchain to enable a future of smart, self-operating agents directly integrated with decentralized systems. This is your chance to explore and expand what's possible at the intersection of AI, programmable money, and permissionless infrastructure.

Overall Goal

Our goal is to foster new ideas, incentivize high-quality development, and grow the Somnia developer and user community. We want to see:

• Creative and practical AI agent use cases
• Advanced smart contracts with autonomous logic
• Accessible interfaces and end-to-end dApps ready to run on-chain

Prize Pool Description

A total of $20,000 in SOMI tokens is up for grabs, awarded across four specialized tracks:

• DeFi Agents:  Explore how AI agents can enhance decentralized finance through automation, strategy execution, and intelligent decision-making in real time
• Gaming Agents: Develop agents that improve gameplay, interactivity, and user engagement within Somnia’s gaming ecosystem
• Infra Agents: Build frameworks, SDKs, and monitoring tools that make it easier to design, deploy, and scale AI agents on Somnia
• Open Track: An open category for original ideas that do not fit into the above tracks with focus on novel use cases

Prize Distribution:-

• First Prize - 2500 $ worth SOMI for each track
• Second Prize - 1500 $ worth SOMI for each track
• Third Prize - 1000$ worth SOMI for each track

Additional perks:-

• Winning projects will get extra ecosystem support.
• Projects that meet the criteria, but do not win any prizes, are still eligible for Somnia ecosystem support if the dev team wishes to continue the development.

Submission Method and Rules

Participants must provide:

1. A public GitHub repository
2. Minimum 2 commits, detailed README, and open-source license
3. A working, deployed Web3 dApp on the Somnia Testnet
4. Provide contract addresses
5. Demo video (≤5 minutes) and a 5-10 slide pitch deck

Additional Rules:

• Projects must be original and developed during the hackathon period
• Teams or solo participants are welcome
• All work must comply with Somnia Testnet policies and legal requirements
• Judging criteria: originality, impact, technical complexity, completeness, usability
