A multidisciplinary EV Systems Engineer combines the practical, hands-on skills of a service engineer with the high-level, architectural expertise of an integration engineer. This role ensures the seamless operation of electric vehicles from the initial design and integration phase through to maintenance and customer support. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of EV systems, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

System Integration and Diagnostics: The engineer oversees the integration of all EV subsystems, including the battery, motor, controller, chassis, and software. They define and manage communication protocols like CAN and LIN between components. They also accurately diagnose and troubleshoot faults using diagnostic tools, software, and real-time data.

Maintenance and Optimization: This role involves both preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and safety. This includes conducting routine inspections, system-level tests, and analysing data to identify potential issues and areas for optimization.

Customer and Field Support: The engineer acts as a technical point of contact for customers, explaining complex issues and repair procedures. They provide on-site field support for breakdowns and complex technical problems, bridging the gap between the customer, service team, and engineering teams.

• Technical Documentation and Reporting: They create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system schematics, integration plans, service reports, and test results. Accurate documentation of all service and repair activities, including fault codes and parts used, is a key responsibility.

Safety and Compliance: The engineer must strictly adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, especially when working with high-voltage components, ensuring a safe work environment

Required Skills and Qualifications

 • Education: A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering.

 • Experience: 1.5-8 years of experience in the automotive industry, with a strong focus on electric vehicles and Components level. Proven experience in both hands-on service/diagnostics and system-level integration is highly preferred.

Technical Knowledge:

- In-depth knowledge of EV architectures and powertrain components (battery, BMS, motor, inverter, VCU, MCU).

- Proficiency in automotive communication protocols like CAN and LIN.

- Proficiency in operating diagnostic tools such as Digital Mustimeters, Oscilloscopes, and professional software like Vector Canoe/CANalyzer.

- Strong understanding of vehicle-level software and electronic control units (ECUs).
