Experienced & Organized A/R & Medical Billing Specialist (Psychiatry Outpatient Practice)

We are a fast-growing telepsychiatry group seeking a highly organized, detail-obsessed billing professional to manage claims, A/R follow-up, and insurance workflows.

This is a part-time, long-term remote role (10–20 hrs/week to start, potential for full-time role), perfect for someone with a background in:

• Bookkeeping or accounting

• Healthcare AR or claim management

• Financial operations or insurance workflows

We’re not just looking for another medical biller. We need someone who thinks like a bookkeeper or accountant...structured, process-driven, and great with numbers.

Responsibilities:

• Submit claims through our EHR (Charm)

• Monitor aging AR and follow up on unpaid or denied claims

• Identify billing errors and prevent future denials

• Upload eligibility checks and insurance verification screenshots

• Maintain SOPs and report on claim/AR status weekly

• Communicate with internal team and possibly patients when needed

Requirements:

• Prior EXPERT experience in insurance billing, AR tracking, or bookkeeping

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow step-by-step instructions

• Strong working knowledge of Clickup / Microsoft 365 / Excel

• Familiarity with platforms like Charm and Availity (or ability to learn quickly)

• Strong English written communication skills

• Comfortable working independently and asking the right questions

• Prior work in telemedicine or mental health billing

• Understanding of CPT codes, modifiers, and EHR workflows

• Maintain Compliant with HIPAA

• Experience writing SOPs or documenting processes

- Must have experience with OUTPATIENT OFFICE billing in BOTH medical and behavioral health (Psychiatry)

- Must have experience with telemedicine billing in multiple states

- EXPERT knowledge of both MDM and TIME-based billing

- EXPERT knowledge with ICD and CPT coding rules and private payor rule sets (we do NOT bill Medicare or Medicaid)

- EXPERT knowledge with chart reviews/audits

- EXPERT knowledge with claim submissions, claim denial and claim appeals
