Head of Procurement

We are looking for a business-driven Head – Procurement & Supply Chain who will lead sourcing, procurement, warehousing, supply chain management, and operational planning. This role requires someone who can build procurement and supply chain systems from the ground up, manage supplier ecosystems, and ensure efficient inventory and logistics management as the company scales. This is a high-impact leadership role with a fast-track growth path to Chief Operating Officer (COO) as the company expands.

The procurement function will support sourcing and supply for the following product lines:
 Dry Fruits & Nuts
 Staples – Rice, Atta, Grains, Pulses
 Packaged Foods

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing
 Develop sourcing strategies for dry fruits, staples, and packaged food products.
 Identify and onboard reliable suppliers, farmers, traders, and manufacturers.
 Lead negotiations to ensure competitive pricing and consistent supply.
 Build strong vendor partnerships to support business growth.

Supply Chain & Warehousing
 Design and manage efficient supply chain operations including procurement,
warehousing, and distribution.
 Oversee inventory planning and stock management across warehouses.
 Ensure smooth coordination between procurement, warehousing, and logistics
operations.
 Implement systems for inventory control, demand forecasting, and replenishment.

Operations & Business Planning
 Work closely with leadership to support business expansion plans.
 Align procurement and supply chain strategy with sales growth and product demand.
 Monitor operational costs and drive efficiency improvements.
 Establish scalable processes suitable for a high-growth FMCG startup.

Vendor & Contract Management
 Evaluate supplier performance on cost, quality, reliability, and compliance.
 Lead vendor negotiations, contracts, and long-term sourcing agreements.
 Develop alternate sourcing strategies to reduce supply risks.

Process Development & Systems
 Implement procurement and supply chain processes suitable for a growing
organization.
 Utilize ERP and procurement tools for tracking procurement, inventory, and vendor
management.
 Build and mentor a procurement and operations team as the company grows.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
 Cost optimization and procurement efficiency
 Supplier reliability and quality consistency
 Inventory turnover and stock availability
 Supply chain efficiency and operational scalability
 Vendor network development

Experience
 7–12 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations.
 Minimum 4 years in procurement with at least 2 years in a leadership role within
FMCG, grocery, food distribution, or food manufacturing.
 Experience handling sourcing for agri commodities, staples, or food products is
preferred.
