₹5,00,000 - ₹10,00,000 a year

DoMyWork is a 10-year-old EdTech platform serving postgraduate and MBA students at UK universities.

We help students with expert academic writing, Turnitin plagiarism and AI detection checks, and an AI-powered grade predictor. Our customers are primarily international students (Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, Nigerian, European) studying at universities in Manchester, London, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham, and other major UK cities.

We are in an intensive pre-launch phase, rebuilding our technology platform and scaling our brand presence across the UK. Our Singapore parent company (SortED Solutions Pte. Ltd.) is raising a seed round. The team is small, moves fast, and operates with full ownership. This is not a corporate role. You will be the marketing brain of the company.

The Role

You will own DoMyWork's entire brand, content, and social media strategy. You are the single point of control between the founder (who sets direction) and everyone who creates and distributes content (UK-based creators, India-based editor, SEO lead, and marketing intern). You think, plan, brief, review, approve, and measure. You don't just execute tasks. You decide what the tasks should be.

You are the person who makes that entire machine run without the founder needing to think about it more than 15 minutes per week.

Why You (The Ideal Candidate)

You have worked at a company like Amber, UniAcco, University Living, Leap Finance, IDP Education, SI-UK, Leverage Edu, Yocket, or a similar organisation that markets to international students heading to UK, Australia, or US universities. Specifically, you were in their marketing, content, or growth team (not operations or sales).

You already understand:

  • The audience: Indian, Pakistani, Chinese, and Nigerian students aged 21-30 doing postgraduate degrees at UK universities.

  • The calendar: September and January intakes, pre-departure season, freshers week, deadline cycles (November, January, May), dissertation season (June to August).

  • The content: what kind of Instagram reels, TikTok videos, and stories resonate with this audience. You have seen what works and what flops.

  • The funnel: awareness in India/home country, conversion in the UK. You know how to reach students before they leave and stay relevant after they arrive.

  • The platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Reddit (r/UniUK), The Student Room, Quora, WhatsApp groups.

If you have managed student ambassador or creator programmes at any of the above companies, you are exactly who we are looking for.

What You Will Do

Content Strategy (40% of your time)

  • Own the content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat.

  • Decide what content gets made each week, for which platform, and by which creator.

  • Brief 4 UK-based content creators weekly: what to film, what angle, what trending audio to use.

  • Review and approve every reel and post before it goes live. Nothing gets published without your sign-off.

  • Write captions, select hashtags, and decide posting times based on UK student activity patterns.

  • Plan content around key moments: deadline weeks, exam season, freshers, results day, Ramadan, Diwali, Chinese New Year (audience-specific moments).

  • Repurpose SEO blog content into social formats: carousels, reels, story sequences.

Brand & Positioning (20% of your time)

  • Own the DoMyWork brand voice. Every piece of content should feel like it comes from the same personality.

  • Ensure the brand is positioned as a UK-native student platform, not an offshore service. Everything from language to visuals must feel British.

  • Monitor competitor accounts (assignment writing services, student platforms) and identify gaps we can exploit.

  • Build and maintain brand guidelines for social media in collaboration with our Head of Design.

  • Run our surrogate advertising strategy: 95% lifestyle/student culture content, 5% product. No hard selling. Think Red Bull, not Chegg.

Team Management (20% of your time)

  • Manage 4 UK-based content creators: 1 lead creator (daily stories + reels) and 3 contributing creators (raw footage only).

  • Manage 1 India-based video editor: assign footage, review edits, ensure quality and turnaround.

  • Manage 1 marketing intern: delegate daily tasks (scheduling, DM responses, analytics, content uploads).

  • Coordinate with our SEO lead on content-to-SEO and SEO-to-content workflows.

  • Run a weekly 30-minute sync with the creator team and editor.

  • Hire and onboard new creators as needed (with founder approval on final selection).

Community & Growth (15% of your time)

  • Oversee the DMW Insider WhatsApp group (student reps): ensure the intern posts deadline alerts, earning tips, and engagement content.

  • Monitor Instagram DMs and comments (the intern handles responses, you set the tone and templates).

  • Identify and execute growth tactics: comment strategies on viral student reels, collaborations with student pages, hashtag strategies.

  • Track and report weekly metrics: follower growth, reel views, story engagement, DM volume, rep programme growth.

Analytics & Reporting (5% of your time)

  • Prepare a simple weekly report for the founder: what was posted, what performed, what is planned next week, any decisions needed.

  • Use Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics, and Google Analytics to inform content decisions.

  • Track competitor activity monthly using the competitor tracker spreadsheet.

You Must Have

  • 2-4 years of experience in content marketing, social media marketing, or growth marketing.

  • Experience at a company that targets international students going to UK/Australia/US universities (Amber, UniAcco, University Living, Leap Finance, IDP, SI-UK, Leverage Edu, Yocket, or similar). This is strongly preferred.

  • Proven experience managing Instagram and/or TikTok accounts that have grown under your leadership. Share specific examples in your application.

  • Experience managing content creators, freelancers, or ambassador teams.

  • Strong written English that sounds natural and conversational, not formal or corporate.

  • Understanding of short-form video: what makes a reel/TikTok work (hooks, pacing, trending audio, retention).

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction. You will get a monthly goal, not daily instructions.

  • Comfort with remote work and UK-overlap hours (12 PM to 6 PM IST minimum).

Nice to Have

  • Personal experience studying at a UK university (postgrad preferred). This is a significant advantage.

  • Experience running student ambassador or campus rep programmes.

  • Experience with YouTube content strategy (we are launching a YouTube channel in Month 2-3).

  • Familiarity with SEO and how content marketing feeds organic search.

  • Experience with Snapchat content (emerging channel for UK students).

  • Understanding of the UK academic writing / EdTech space.

What You Will Not Do

  • You will NOT be on camera. That is what the UK-based creators are for.

  • You will NOT edit videos. That is what the India-based editor is for.

  • You will NOT schedule posts, respond to DMs, or compile analytics. That is what the intern is for.

  • You will NOT manage the website, product, or tech. That is separate.

  • You think. You strategise. You brief. You review. You approve. You measure. That is your job.

How We Work

  • Weekly sync with the founder: 15 minutes. You share what happened last week, what is planned this week, and flag any decisions needed.

  • Weekly sync with creators: 30 minutes. You brief the week's content, share feedback on last week's posts, discuss trends.

  • Daily standups with interns: 10 minutes. Quick check on what was posted, DM volume, any issues.

  • Monthly strategy review: 45 minutes with the founder. Review metrics, adjust strategy, plan next month.

Tools: Instagram Business Suite (posting), Google Drive (content library), Slack (team communication), Notion or Google Sheets (content calendar), CapCut/Instagram Edits (creator editing).

Compensation & Growth

  • INR 60,000 to 80,000 per month (In Hand) depending on experience.

  • Performance bonus linked to follower growth, engagement metrics, and content output targets (reviewed quarterly).

  • ESOP eligibility after 6 months (subject to board approval and company ESOP policy).

  • Full creative control. You are the marketing team. No layers of approval above you except the founder.

  • Direct access to the founder for all strategic decisions.

  • As the company grows, this role grows into Head of Marketing / VP Marketing with a larger team and budget.

How to Apply

1. Your LinkedIn profile (or CV if you prefer).

2. Your personal Instagram handle (we want to see that you understand the platform, not just talk about it).

3. One Instagram account you have grown or managed (share the handle and a 2-line summary of what you did and what the results were).

4. Answer this question in 3-4 lines: "DoMyWork is an academic support platform for UK university students. We have a new Instagram page. You have 30 days and a budget of INR 50,000. What do you do?"

That last question is the real filter. We are not looking for a textbook answer. We are looking for someone who thinks in specifics: which creators, which content, which hashtags, which universities, which moments. If your answer is generic ("I would create engaging content and run ads"), you are not the right fit.
